And the livin's easy

Well, the novelty of doing absolutely nothing has worn off. Turns out you can only spend so much time running, watching TV, and lounging around before transforming into a vegetable.

I'm compensating for the boredom in a couple ways, such as some good ol' fashioned mcat studying. You know how quickly I forgot nomenclature? Yeah, that fast. The next 7 weeks are going to be a bitch. But at least I won't be bored.

I've also taken up leisure reading again. Funny how not being in school allows these sorts of things. Currently, I'm reading The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins, and 2012: The Return of Quetzacoatl by Daniel Pinchbeck. Both a bit strange, not sure if I'd recommend either one yet. I'll definitely be ready for something a little lighter next time. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know.

Oh, I've also been planning a wedding, well, "planning" a wedding. Getting engaged should come with a disclaimer:

The next year and a half of your life will be hell. Be prepared to deal with over-excited and way too happy individuals of the female type who are more enthused about your wedding date than you are. You're more than likely going to spend as much money on this one day event as you would for a year of graduate school. You'll have to meet everyone's approval, even that long-lost second cousin you've never met. May cause nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. Not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women. May cause drowsiness. Caution when operating a vehicle or heavy machinery.

I bet a lot less people would be in such a hurry to seal the deal if they knew what the process actually entailed. Seriously though, I have every confidence that once it's all figured out, it'll be lovely. But in the meantime, I'll be pulling out my hair.
